On the 16th 17th and 18th April Margate Museum opened its doors to celebrate the opening of the Turner Contemporary. We had a very successful weekend with over 1500 visitors over the three days we were open, 900 of those were on Saturday which was jam-packed as you can imagine! The Museum was staffed with volunteers from the Friends of the Margate Museum who did an excellent job. On Saturday we had the a local accordionist Hilary, playing seaside songs in one of the Museum’s gaols.
